Android 7.1.2 rolling out for Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player and Pixel C

While all eye is on Google's latest Android O, the Pixel maker is still not done with Nougat (v7). Google started beta testing Android 7.1.2 back in January, and now it has started rolling the update to eligible Nexus and Pixel devices.

The final stable version of Android 7.1.2 is out for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel C, and the Pixel Phones: Pixel & Pixel XL. Unfortunately, Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 is not eligible for the new update, and will remain on Android 7.1.1, which is the last software update for them, but will get monthly security patches.

Android 7.1.2 for the aforementioned devices contains a few new features, bug fixes and general performance/stability improvements.

Android 7.1.2 for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, and Pixel C contains:
Enhanced notification stability
Fingerprint swipe on 5X/6P
General connectivity improvements
Battery usage alerts

Android 7.1.2 for Pixel and Pixel XL include
Improved fingerprint swipe performance
Bluetooth connectivity improvements
Battery usage alerts

In addition for Pixel and Pixel XL “Some of the other fixes are with the early shutdown issue, a fix for the small number of users experiencing pink banding on the camera, and a fix to the audio popping issue some users were experiencing at high volumes,” said Google.

Android 7.1.2 factory images and OTA images are now available for
Pixel / Pixel XL (N2G47E/N2G47J)
Pixel C (N2G47D)
Nexus 6P: (N2G47H)
Nexus 5X (N2G47F)
Nexus Player (N2G47H)

The factory images and OTA images for the aforementioned devices can be downloaded from Google's Developers website (https://developers.google.com/android/images), if your device has not received the OTA update. Also devices enrolled in the Android Beta Program will also receive the final stable version of Android 7.1.2 soon.

You can download factory images and OTA images for these devices from the Google Developers website here, if you don’t have the OTA update yet. Devices enrolled in the Android Beta Program will also receive this final version.
