PayPal + Android Pay, is that even possible?

PayPal and Google Pay have been long-time rivals, given the fact that PayPal has been there since forever and Google Pay is something new that needs to get the attention it deserves, with that Google had to work and make itself a name in that market.

But well who would have thought that this rivalry would turn into partnership, because PayPal is going to become an available payment method for those who use Android Pay, which would make it better for both parties.

What is Android Pay?

If you don't know what Android Pay is, simply put, it is a service that allows you to pay for the things that you buy using your Android Phone, and you do this by waving your Android Phone in front of a wireless reader that is equipped with NFC (Near Field Communication) and you include your payment methods in the app itself and your mobile does it for you and this is good if you are the type of person who hates carrying around his credit cards and things like that, since all of this happens with only one thing (your Android Phone) to buy you stuff.

So what is new exactly??

The thing is that users now have the option to link their PayPal accounts to their Android Pay, which gives PayPal additional reach and makes you able to use it.

How wide is the "Paying with your phone" market?

It is pretty wide actually, aside from Android Pay and PayPal's Mobile Wallet, there is Google Wallet, Apple Pay and there is even the less known Samsung Pay, coming to think of it, will Samsung Pay be able to compete with these Mobile Payments giants? Tell me what you think in the comments down below.

When is this happening?

It is supposed to be happening in the coming weeks as stated by PayPal's chief operating officer Bill Ready.
