ZTE announces Snapdragon 821 powered Axon 7s in China

Chinese smartphone maker ZTE has introduced an upgraded version of the Axon 7 flagship, called the Axon 7s.

The new ZTE Axon 7s is equipped with the energy efficient Snapdragon 821 processor, instead of Snapdragon 820. Moreover, ZTE calls it "Security Phone" designed for use in China's government-enterprise industry, as it boasts security capabilities, which the company calls "systhematic integration of intelligent encryption".

Apart from these two features, everything else including the phone's design and specs will most likely remain the same.

This means, the ZTE Axon 7s will feature 5.5-inch QHD display, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 20MP OIS rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, NFC, Android Marshmallow and 3250mAh battery.

According to ZTE's press release, the Axon 7s will only be available for government use in China, so it won't be making its way out of the country.
