LG Q8 is a 'mini' version of V20

LG recently introduced the new 'Q' line up of smartphone, that brings the company's flagship device's signature feature at a lower price. The first member of the 'Q' line include Q6, Q6a and Q6+ that gets LG G6's FullVision display. Today, LG has introduced another smartphone from its new Q line: the LG Q8 (LG H970).

The LG Q8 is basically a compact version of last year's LG V20, and comes with the always on secondary ticker screen that gives you quick access to notifications, contacts, shortcuts and lets you switch between apps easily. However, it gets a smaller 5.2-inch QHD Gorilla Glass 4 display (1440 x 2560 pixels) instead of 5.7-inch of LG V20.

It features Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage, dual cameras (13MP f/1.8 78-degree + 8MP f/2.4 135-degree) for wide-angle photos and 4K recording, 5MP f/1.9 120-degree wide-angle selfie camera and 3000mAh battery.

It sports a metal body and is IP68 certified, for dust and water resistant, and should be able to survive up to 1.5 meters underwater for 30 minutes. It runs Android Nougat and includes rear mounted fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack and Hi-Fi DAC (digital to analog converter).

The LG Q8 has been officially announced in Italy, and will go on sale later this month for €599. It is not known whether the phone will be available in other European region or non-European market.
