Yota 3 with secondary e-ink screen surface in press renders


Russia based Yota Devices was one of the first smartphone maker to release a smartphone with two displays: the usual color screen at the front, and an e-ink screen at the back, that consumes less energy and is easy on the eyes, making it ideal for users who read on their phones.

After launching two such phones, Yota Devices back in June announced Yota 3. At the time it only teased the device and revealed few details. However, now renders of Yota 3 has surfaced, giving us the first clear look at the device.



As seen in the renders, the Yota 3 appears to have a new design when compared to its predecessors. It will have a sleek design will be bigger in size when compared to its predecessor. It also shows the E ink display being users to show IM messages, news, time, weather, step count and stock prices.

The main color display at the front is said to be 5.5-inch screen with Full HD resolution, while the e-ink screen at the back is 5.2-inch in size bearing HD resolution. Below the front screen there's a physical button, that is most likely to house fingerprint sensor.

The Yota 3 is expected to feature power-efficient Snapdragon 625 chip, 4GB RAM, and offered in 64GB and 128GB storage. The storage is expandable via microSD card. It will have a single 12MP rear camera and 13MP front camera, while the battery capacity is set at 3200mAh. It will run Android Nougat and support USB Type-C port.

The Yota 3 is rumored to cost $350 (Rs. 22,300) for the 64GB storage model and $450 (Rs. 28,700) for the 128GB storage version. It will reportedly hit China market first in September, and pre-orders will open at Russia around the same time.
