Netflix adds HDR support for iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPad Pro

Netflix has expanded its  HDR and Dolby Vision support to more mobile devices. Earlier this month Galaxy Note8 got HDR support, and now it is expanding to Apple's latest phones – iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, along with second generation iPad Pro 12.9 and 10.5-inch tablet.

HDR videos allows viewers to experience movies and TV shows in stunning true to life color and stunning image quality with more clarity. Netflix has a growing library of HDR and Dolby Vision content, but it can only be watched on devices that support HDR. HDR streaming requires a premium subscription, high-speed internet connection and the latest hardware.

With the latest additions, the list of devices that support Netflix's HDR and Dolby Vision videos include iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPad Pro, Apple TV 4K, LG G6, LG V30, Samsung Galaxy Note8, Sony Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia Sony XZ1. The number of smartphone that support HDR is small, but it is likely to grow in the near future.
