Samsung Bixby voice function now available in India

Samsung's Bixby voice function is now available in India through a software update. Starting today users of Galaxy Note8, Galaxy and Galaxy S8+ can enable Bixby's voice capabilities in US English by pressing the Bixby button. It can be triggered by holding the dedicated button (placed below the volume rockers) on these device or by simply saying "Hi Bixby".

The company says that Bixby has been optimized to understand Indian accents, so it does now matter from which part of the country you are, Bixby will understand your voice commands.

Bixby lets you use "Quick Commands" a feature that allows you to easily create a custom voice command to use in place of sequence of one ore more commands. For instance, you can use the command "good night" as a shortcut to put the phone in do-not-disturb mode, set an alarm or turn on blue light filter.

You can even command Bixby to read latest messages on message apps, turn on Bluetooth, search for information on the web,  find photos from your gallery, turn on flashlight and more.

Thanks to Bixby's iterative deep learning skills, it will improve over time to recognize your personal preferences and ways of speaking.
