Google's Datally app helps you save mobile data

Earlier this year Google was testing an app called Triangle that allowed users to easily manage and check mobile data consumption on smartphones. And now the app has shed its beta tag, and have been officially released as Datally.

The Datally app lets you understand, control and save mobile data. You can view the data usage hourly, daily, weekly or monthly basis and get personalized recommendation for home you can save more.

When Datally's Data Saver mode is enabled, the app blocks unwanted background data usage and tracks real-time data usage of a particular app while you are using it. You can also block data with one tap if an app's data usage gets out of control. The app will also notify you if you're near public WiFi and help you connect.

Google in its blog post said that during testing the app in Philippines, users were able to save up to 30 percent of their data. The aim here is to help users save their precious data who are on limited data plan.

Datally is now available for download from Google Play Store, and is compatible with devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop.
