Oreo Based Kernel Source Code Released For Mi 8 SE & Moto G6 Smartphones

Xiaomi vowed to improve its pace of releasing kernel sources. The company recently said that it will post kernel sources within three months after the launch of the device. Keeping its word, Xiaomi has shared the Android 8.1 based kernel source code of the Mi 8 SE which was announced three weeks ago. The sources for the other two Mi 8 variants - standard and Explorer Edition - are yet to be released.

Motorola has also posted Oreo 8.0 based kernel sources of its new budget smartphones - G6, G6 Play and G6 Plus. The three phones were announced in April in Brazil alongside the Moto E series smartphones.

Kernel source codes are useful for developers as they help them in building stable custom ROMs, recoveries and custom kernels. The kernel source codes for the mentioned devices can be found at the links in the source.
