Dell Announce New Batch Of Laptops And Tablets For The Education Market

Dell announced couple of new Laptops and tablets for the education market - Chromebook 11, Latitude 11, Dell Venue 10 Android tablet and Dell Venue 10 Pro. The new products from Dell are designed to fit the lifestyle of students.

The Dell Chromebook 11 features a 11.6-inch screen with 1366x768 screen resolution. They come in two versions, one with a regular screen and the other with touchscreen. The Chromebook is powered by dual-core Intel Bay Trial-M Celerom processor clocked at 2.16GHz speed. It also has 16GB internal storage and also comes in two memory options 2GB RAM or 4GB RAM. Other features include two USB ports (2.0 and 3.0) and HDMI port. A 4G LTE model with Sim Card slot is also available. Battery life is rated to deliver upto 10 hours.

Dell states - "The new Dell Chromebook 11 is also the first to feature an "activity light," allowing teachers to easily monitor student activity and facilitate more meaningful interactions such as orchestrating student groups or facilitating quick quizzes and polls. The device can also be coupled with Google Apps for Education to provide a more open and connected classroom."

The Dell Latitude 11 is a Window 8.1 running laptop. It features a 11.6-inch display and  is powered by Intel celeron processor and houses 250GB of HDD storage. It will also be offered in two version - regular screen and touchscreen. No other details are available.

Dell states - "The Latitude 11 Education Series provides an 11.6-inch touch or non-touch display with Corning Gorilla Glass NBT, full-size keyboard and ultimate durability, providing peace of mind even in the messiest locations such as art classes and cafeterias. Not only is the device subjected to MIL-STD 810G testing for pressure, temperature, shock and vibration, but the Latitude 11 Education Series also provides an exclusive fully sealed keyboard and touch pad to protect against spills, while also providing a rubberized LCD and base trim to provide superb drop protection."

Dell also announced two new tablets for the education market - Dell Venue Android tablet and Dell Venue 10 Pro. Both the tablet features 10.1-inch HD display with 1280x800 screen resolution. It works with and attachable keyboard that can be folded into several position, just like Lenovo's Yoga ultrabooks.

It can be setup in different modes - clamshell for test scenarios and to use as a laptop, tent and stand positions to promote collaboration and sharing, and slate configuration for keyboard storage while in tablet mode. An optional active stylus also provides the pen and paper "inking" experience on the tablet.

The big difference between the two tablets is that the Venue 10 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and Venue 10 Pro runs Windows 8.1. Dell has not revealed the specs of Android powered Venue 10 but it did provide some specs of the Venue 10 Pro.

The Venue 10 Pro runs Windows 8.1 and features Intel Core M processor (2.0GHz or 2.9GHz dual-core), Intel HD Graphics 5300, 2GB of RAM, available in 64/128/256GB of internal storage, a full-size USB 3.0 port, micro HDMI port and a microSD card slot. An optional active stylus also provides the pen and paper "inking" experience on the tablet.

Pricing - The Chromebook 11 is priced at $249 and is available on starting today. The pricing and release date of Dell Latitude 11 are not yet revealed.

The Dell Venue 10 Pro will go on sale on March 3 and is priced $329.99 and $379.99 with the keyboard attachment. The pricing and availability details of Android powered Dell Venue 10 is TBA.
