BlackBerry's SecuTablet is a high-security tablet based on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5

SecuSmart, a Blackberry venture in collaboration with IBM and Samsung has launched a new highly secure tablet called the SecuTABLET.

The SecuTABLET is based on Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5  loaded with IBM software, Samsung’s Knox, and backed with SecuSmart security. It runs SecuSUITE for BlackBerry 10 OS and Android OS.

The tablet is modified for national and international public sector market and enterprises who desire maximum security. SecuSmart's encryption technology which secure phone calls between employees is built into the tablet.

SecuTablet enables users to access their crucial data on the go. Personal apps that are not secured such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and WhatsApp can be used so even if an user downloads a malicious app it can't compromise secure documents that are stored on the tablet.

Secusmart's encryption technology is already employed by the German and Canadian government and is used to prevent people from spying on the slate.

IBM has provided the secure app wrapping technology for the SecuTABLET. The company has not revealed the technical specifications sheet for the SecuTABLET. 

However, the SecuTablet may feature the same specs as Galaxy Tab S 10.5 that include 10.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600, an octa-core Exynos 5420 CPU paired with ARM Mali-T628 MP6 GPU, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB internal storage, 8-megapixel rear and 2.1-megapixel front camera. It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat and is backed by 7,900mAh battery.

The SecuTablet comes with a hefty price tag of $2,380 (Rs. 1,50,000)
