Microsoft's internet browser Project Spartan is called Microsoft Edge


Microsoft internet browser codenamed 'Project Spartan' now has a name. Microsoft at Build 2015 announced that the new web browser for Windows 10 will be called ' Microsoft Edge'.

Edge will have features such as built in note taking and sharing. It will have new tab page, which is located in the address bar in the middle of the pages. It will display top pages, apps associated with those pages and  a handful of featured apps. Microsoft's digital assistant Cortana will be also be built-in to the browser.

Another major feature is Web Extensions written via HTML and Javascript will be supported. Microsoft's Joe Belifore said that any extensions made for Chrome and Firefox will work with Edge with 'just a few modifications'.

More details about Microsoft Edge will be revealed at Microsoft Edge Web Summit which will be on on May 5-6 at Microsoft's Silicon Valley offices, located in Mountain View California.

In addition, Kyle Alden, member of the Microsoft Edge browser team posted the logo of Microsoft Edge. The new logo looks similar to the Old logo, but the 'e' is stylized and ditches the ring in favor of broken curved edge on the top left side.
