Microdia showcases a microSD card with 512GB of storage space

California-based company, Microdia showcased the 512GB Xtra Elite microSDXC UHS-II card at Computex 2015, making the card the world's highest capacity microSD card. The card is aimed at professional photographers who need more storage for their high-resolution photos and faster speed.

The Microdia Xtra Elite makes use of a Secure Digital version 4.0 and offers data transfer rates of up to 300MBps. The card features an additional row of pins below the standard ones because it's using SD 4.0

Till date, the highest capacity microSD card is from SanDisk that offers 200GB. There are a few smartphones in the market from HTC and LG that supports up to 2TB of expandable storage, but they are priced cheaper than Microdia's Xtra Eltie card.

The Microdia 512GB Xtra Elite card is slated to go on sale in July in the U.S for around $1000 (Rs. 63,000).
