Xolo Black with 5.5-inch 1080p display, dual camera setup, 4G support launched for Rs. 13,999

Xolo has announced an online-only brand called Black and the first phone to be introduced under this brand is by the same name 'Black'. It sports a premium metallic frame that measures 7.7mm around the waist, the front and rear comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection 3.

Xolo Black has an Oleophobic coating at the back to make it resilient against smudges and stranins. It also features a breathing notification light around the power button.

Xolo Black features 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) OGS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core (ARM Cortex A53 – 4×1.5GHz + 4×1.0GHz) processor paired with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. On-board storage is 16GB and it comes with hybrid dual SIM slot, where the second SIM slot doubles up as microSD card slot.

It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with HIVE Atlas UI on top that comes with Underground feature to store private apps and data securely, Reading mode that coverts text to black and white for an e-book-like experience and the Comet Browser with data and battery saving features.

Camerawise, it sports dual rear camera setup, a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash, 3-element lens, f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel camera for depth sensing with 3-element lens, f/2.0 aperture. The dual cameras work in tandem for faster autofocus (0.15 seconds) and depth-mapping. It also enables features like UbiFocus, which lets users refocus on objects even after a photo has been taken. On the front there is a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, 5-element lens, f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivty options include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS+GLONASS and USB OTG. It is backed by 3200mAh battery that supports quick charging, allowing the handset to charge from zero to 50 percent in an hour.

Xolo Black  is priced at Rs. 12,999 and will be exclusively sold on Flipkart via weekly flash sales. The first flash sale is scheduled for July 13 and the registrations for the sale is now open. For existing Xolo customers, the Black will be available on July 12th from 4PM to 8PM.

The handset also comes bundled with 1GB of free data for 2 months and unlimited Vodafone Music service for two months. Xolo also announced its Xpress care service, which promises to replair the Black handset in an hour.
