ZTE Blade A1, a sub $100 phone with fingerprint sensor


Chinese brand ZTE has outed a new budget smartphone dubbed Blade A1 in its home country. The ZTE Blade A1 is priced at CNY 599 (Rs. 6,300 | $93) and will go on sale December 11. The phone is equipped with a fingerprint sensor and at the said price, it appears to be the most affordable smartphone to boast fingerprint sensor in the world, beating UMi Fair.

The Fingerprint sensor is located at the rear below that camera, and as per the brand, it can unlock the device in just 0.3 seconds. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with ZTE's MiFavor 3.2 UI on top, and supports dual-SIM and 4G LTE connectivity. It houses hybrid dual SIM support that lets you second SIM slot as a microSD slot when required.


As for the specs, the ZTE Blade A1 features a 5-inch HD display and is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6735 with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be topped via microSD card. The camera features include 13-megapixel rear camera accompanied with an LED flash and 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies. It is fueled by 2800mAh battery, sports a plastic build and comes in Smart White, Vibrant Yellow, Dream Green, Cool Blue and Space Grey colors.
