Lenovo, Razer collaboration lights up new gaming desktop, curved monitor

Last year in November, Lenovo and Razer had announced that they would be working together on Y series of gaming machines. The companies also teased the Razer Editions of the Y900 and Y27 curved gaming monitor at Dreamhack, Las Vegas at the same time.

Now at CES 2016, the Lenovo Razer collabaration has officially taken wraps off the Y900 RE (Razor Edition) rig and the Y27g RE Curved Gaming Monitor.

The Y900 RE comes with an over-clockable Intel i7 Skylake processor and supports up to dual NVIDIA GTX 970 GPUs with 4GB GDDR5. It can be cofigured with up to 32GB of DDR4 memory in 4 slots and up to 2TB HDD and 256GB SSD. Other features include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, 7-in-1 card reader, 2 x USB 2.0 ports and 4 x USB 3.0 ports (both are Type-A).  It runs Windows 10.

The entire rig weighs at 15kg and comes in Ebony Black color finish. It comes with some of Razer's peripherals including a Chrome BlackWidow Keyboard and a Mamba Tournament mouse. It also has a Razer Chrome feature that allows multi-color lighting on the Y logo on the front panel and back fan.

If you want a great gaming monitor to make use of all this performance, there is the Y27g RE Curved Gaming monitor. The monitor has a 27-inch curved display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, aspect ratio of 16:9, maximum brightness of 300nits and 8ms response time. It's also go NVIDIA's G-SYNC technology on board to get along with those dual graphics in the Y900 RE.

The Y27g RE monitor has a HDMI port, DisplayPort, 4 x USB 3.0 port and a dedicated charging port. The stand allows for tilt, lift and swivel adjustments to suit users personal gaming position. On the back there is the Razer's Chroma lightning.

The ideacentre Y900 RE prices start at US$2,299 (Rs. 1.5 lac) and the Y27g RE costs $599.99 (Rs. 40,000). Both will be available from June 2016. There is also the Y27g in a regular Lenovo, non-Razer form for $549.99 (Rs. 36,000) that loses the Razer edition badges and Chrome lighting.
