Titan unveils its first smartwatch JUXT, prices start at Rs. 15,995

India's leading watchmaker Titan, which is part of Tata Group has forayed into the wearable technology. The company in partnership with HP has launched the Juxt smartwatch. Apart from India, Titan will be introducing the smartwatch in international markets including the U.S, U.K and Canada.

Titan's JUXT comes in three variants - Titanium, Stainless Steel and Rose Gold. The smartwatch can be paired via Bluetooth with any smartphones running Android 4.4 KitKat or iOS 8.1 and up operating systems. All three offer the same specs, the only difference being the color.

"The JUXT is driven by a dual caliber mechanism – housing an analog Titan caliber 6130 and a digital module that drives the smartness (in reference to smartwatch). The timepiece features a subtle honeycomb dial, 3D indices and a genuine calf leather strap. (in reference to the watch)" said the company.

At first glance, the JUXT looks like a regular watch, but has a small rectangular OLED display at the bottom center, for its smartwatch capabilities. It displays notifications from connected devices such as calls, appointments, emails, texts, social media notifications and more. There is vibrating alert as well when you receive a notification. The smartwatch is waterproof for up to 5 ATM (50 metres).

The JUXT also has fitness tracking capabilities like Activity tracking with daily, weekly and monthly monitoring of fitness goals. Unfortunately it does not offer sleep tracking or heart rate monitoring. The smartwatch syncs with smartphone via dedicated app (Android and iOS) and shows the number of steps a user has taken, set daily activity goal and even lets you configure notification.

The smartwatch comes with two batteries one for the analogue elements and the other for digital elements. It promises battery life of 7 days.

The Titan JUXT Stainless Steel is priced at Rs. 15,995 while the Rose Gold and Titanium models are priced at 17,995 and Rs. 19,995 respectively. The smartwatches are available for pre-booking on www.titan.co.in/juxt and Myntra from January 21, 2016, onwards.
