Sony's Huis is a universal remote with an e-ink display


Sony's latest product to hit its crowd-funding platform First Flight, is a e-ink device called 'Huis' pronounced as House.

Huis is a e-ink based universal remote that uses e-ink touch screen and allows users to control smart home gadgets such as lights, TV sets, music systems, air conditioners and more. The remote has support for WiFi, Bluetooth LE and IR.

The remote is fully customisable, and can be customized via a PC or on the device itself, as per a user's preference. Since, it has a e-paper display, it allows for lower power consumption The screen never turns off, and the bottom base of the remote acts like a stand.

Sony Hius is priced at  27,950 Japanese Yen ($243 | Rs. 30,000) and will be available in Japan starting in March. It is now up for pre-orders and there is no word on global availability yet.
