Samsung outs the 4-inch Galaxy J1 mini smartphone

Samsung introduced the Galaxy J1 2016 edition in January this year, and now the company has announced the entry-level Galaxy J1 Mini, a pocket friendly dual-SIM phone with 3G connectivity. The phone is listed on Samsung's Russia and Philippines website.

The Samsung Galaxy J1 mini sports a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) TFT display and is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor and comes with 768MB RAM and 8GB internal storage, which can be further topped by inserting a microSD card. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop.

For photography there is 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and 720p video recording capabilities, and VGA front facing camera. On the connectivity side, the device supports 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It is fueled by 1500mAh battery, which delivers eight hours of talk time and 29 hours of audio playback.

There are no details on the pricing and availability of Galaxy J1 mini, but considering the specs, it could cost around $90 (Rs. 6,000) and targeted at emerging markets.
