Samsung announces EVO Plus 256GB microSD card for $250

Samsung has unveiled the EVO Plus 256GB microSD card, which offers the highest capacity for a card in its class, and provides fast speeds.

The new microSD card can be used in smartphones, tablets, 360-degree video recorders, action camera and drones. Thanks to the high capacity, the microSD card will be able to store up to 12 hours of 4K UHD video or 33 hours of 1080p video without worrying for the space to run out.

The Evo Plus 256GB microSD card is equipped with advanced V-NAND technology and offers rear and write speeds of up to 95mbps and 90mbps respectively. It is water-resistant (IPX7 certified), temperature proof, magnetic proof and X-ray proof.

Samsung will offer the EVO Plus 256GB microSD card with a limited 10-year warranty in more than 50 countries, including the USA, Europe, China, and other regions starting in June 2016 for $249.99 (Rs. 17,000).
