Google's Motion Still iOS app creates GIFs and movies from Live Photos

Google has released an app for iPhone users that will take Apple's Live Photos to a whole new level. The app is called Motion Stills and lets users to turn Live Photos to GIF. The app is compatible with iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone SE.

Google's Motion Stills app uses video stabilization technology to freeze the background areas of Live Photos into a still photo or create sweeping cinematic pans to remove shakiness. To keep the background steady while looping, the app separates the background from the rest of the scene.

The resulting output is a steady Live Photo in GIF format, which can be shared via messaging or on social media. Users can also create a movie by combining multiple clips.
