MapMyIndia launches DriveMate with real-time car monitoring for Rs 9,990

Domestic navigational accessories manufacturer MapMyIndia has launched its next generation Connected Car IoT (Internet of Things) technology dubbed 'DriveMate'. The device is a plug-and-play accessory for your car that offers real-time monitoring with its built-in GPS and internet connectivity.

You can connect the DriveMate to your vehicles OBD-II (on-board-diagnostics) port, and get details on location, ignition, status reports, and others of your car on your Android, iOS and Windows devices. Car owners can easily move DriveMate from one car to another if they want to monitor different cars, and also monitor multiple cars or their entire fleet with the dedicated mobile app.

DriveMate automatically monitors drivers behavior such as harsh braking, acceleration, cornering and provides alerts and information related to vehicle theft, misuse, ignition on/off, over speeding, idling and breaching of the preset geofence. You can also store important documents such as Driving License, Registration Certificate, Insurance Policy and Pollution certificate and more electronically on the dedicated app provided by MapMyIndia.

MapMyIndia's DriveMate bundle includes the device itself, free tracking service for the first year  and SIM card/data connectivity charges (Rs. 2,400 after that annually). It is priced at Rs. 9,990 and is available for purchase from the company website.

There is another variant called DriveMate Max, which provides additional in-app one-tap connectivity between the owner of the accessory and their car dealers and service centers for easier roadside assistance and car service requests. It is priced at Rs. 14,990.
