Sharp Aquos P1 with 5.3-inch display, Snapdragon 820 SoC announced


Sharp after launching the Aquos Mini and 507SH Android One phone in Japan , has expanded its smartphone portfolio with launch of Aquos P1 in Taiwan, their flagship product with top end hardware. The phone sports metal and glass build, runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, comes with fingerprint scanner, and is waterproof and dustproof thanks to IPX5/IPX8 and IP5X ratings.

The Sharp Aquos P1 features 5.3-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IGZO LCD display with a layer of Corning;s Goilla Glass to keep scratch at bay and is powered by dual-core Snapdragon 820 processor backed by Adreno 530 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 32GB, which can be increased via microSD card.

For photography, there's 22-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. f/1.9 aperture, OIS (optical image stabilisation), and 5-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE (w/ VOLTE), Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11ac, GPS and NFC. It is fueled by 3000mAh battery and supports fast charging.

The Sharp Aquos P1 is priced at NT$20,990 ($648 | Rs. 43,800) in Taiwan and will be available starting July 15.
