LG V20 will be world’s first smartphone to feature a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC

LG recently confirmed that its upcoming flagship, the V20 will run Android 7.0 Nougat. Now the company has announced that the V20 will pack 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC (digital to analog converter) for enhanced audio playback, making it the first device to carry such a component.

LG has partnered with ESS Technology again for this audio tech, as last year’s V10 also featured 32-bit Hi-Fi DAC. According to LG, when using compatible wired headphone, the 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC on the V20 will offer crisp and clear sound, which reduces ambient noise by up to 50 percent, when compared to traditional DAC.

"Higher quality audio is simply the natural evolution of the smartphone, as the industry moves toward a more holistic multimedia consumption experience. We’re pleased to continue this long-term partnership with ESS and bring best in class audio to LG V20 users." said Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications.

Just a few days back, alleged renders of V20 surfaced online with a LG G5 like build with dual-rear cameras, USB Type-C port and semi-modular design. It is also likely to have the secondary smaller ticker display above the main screen just like the V10. The latest rumored specs of the V20 include 5.7-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM and dual rear cameras.

LG will officially unveil the V20 on September 6.
