Samsung Galaxy Note7 with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage officially confirmed

Earlier reports suggetsed that Samsung was planning to release Galaxy Note7 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. When the phone was unveiled earlier this month, it only had 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. However the upgraded Galaxy Note7 model with 6GB RAM was spotted on China's TENAA recently.

Now a Samsung executive has confirmed that the 6GB RAM Galaxy Note7 is in the works. During Galaxy Note7 unpacked event in Seoul, Samsung’s Mobile chief Dong Jin Koh confirmed that the company will be launching and upgraded model of Galaxy Note7 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

But it will be exclusive to the China market, where it is receiving stiff competition from local vendors like One Plus, Xiaomi, Meizu, Huawei, LeEco, who are offering devices with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. To remind you OnePlus was the first company to launch the OnePlus 3 with 6GB RAM globally.

Jin Koh also said that Samsung will start rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for its smartphones in two or three months. But this will be done only after gathering feedback from users, as the company wants to build a stable and seamless platform for users.

The Samsung Galaxy Note7 is priced at $849 in the U.S and was launched in India just yesterday (available September 2) for Rs. 59,900. The 6GB RAM/128GB storage model of Galaxy Note 7 is expected to cost CNY 6088 ($917). Unfortunately, Koh did not mention a release date.
