BLU Vivo 5R with 5.5-inch display, octa-core processor, fingerprint scanner announced


U.S based smartphone BLU Mobile has launched a new smartphone in its home market dubbed Vivo 5R. It is the successor of Vivo 5 and comes with improved screen resolution, cameras and runs Android Marshmallow. The phone sports a premium metal unibody design and has a fingerprint scanner at the back, which was missing in Vivo 5.

The BLU Vivo 5R comes with 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) curved glass display and is powered by octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage, which can be increased via microSD card.

For photgraphy there's 13MP Sony IMX258 rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and PDAF. On the front it has 8-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. It is fueled by a 3150mAh battery.

The BLU Vivo 5R is priced at $199 (Rs. 13,500) and up for pre-order on Amazon and Best Buy in the U.S. It will be available from September 21.
