BlackBerry Mercury with Android 7.0 Nougat spotted on Geekbench

Back in July, a report claimed that BlackBerry was working on three new Android smartphones codenamed Argon, Neon and Mercury. The company has already launched Argon as DTEK50, while the Neon is expected to hit the market soon under the moniker DTEK60.

Now the third smartphone, Mercury which is expected to arrive with a QWERTY keyboard has been spotted on Geekbench benchmarks revealing some key specs.

As listed on Geekbench, the BlackBerry Mercury carrying model number BBB100-1 runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and packs 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor and 3GB RAM. The handset scores 913 points on the single-core test and 5,047 with multi-cores. Unfortunately, there are no other details provided, but the specs revealed by the test are in line with the report that surfaced back in July.

Additionally the report had mentioned that BlackBerry Mercury will have 4.5-inch Full HD display with 3:2 aspect ratio, and below it, there will be BlackBerry's iconic QWERTY keyboard, similar to that of BlackBerry Passport. Other rumored specs include 32GB storage, 18MP rear camera, 8MP front camera and 3400mAh battery.

BlackBerry has already announced that it will not make its own devices anymore instead outsource manufacturing to partners. The Mercuy could be result of TCL (Alcatel)/BlackBerry partnership, just like what t it did with DTEK50 and DTEK 60.
