Meizu Box with 4K support, Bluetooth voice remote remote announced


Earlier today Meizu announced its latest budget smartphone the M5. In addition the company also introduced a Android powered smart set-up box simply called as Meziu Box.

The Meizu Box has a triangular design with a glossy surface and has a M logo located in the center, which is also the power button.

It runs on Android Marshmallow based Flyme TV with 4K decoding support. It supports China's multiple streaming services like Youku, Sohu, PPTV and more; number of games from EA sports; and music streaming platforms in China as well.

It also comes with a Bluetooth remote with voice command support, and can function from a distance of eight meters. The device can also be controlled via a dedicated Android app, that even allows users to cast smartphone screen to their TV.

Coming to the specs, the Meizu Box features quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU with Mali 450 GPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and Dolby Digital. It includes an HDMI 2.0a , a USB 2.0 port, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and Ethernet.

The Meizu Box is priced at CNY 299 ($44 | Rs. 3,000) and will be available in China from November 11. It will compete with Xiaomi 4K TV Box and LeEco's TV Box U4 which are priced at $69 and $80 respectively.
