WhatsApp Beta for Windows Phone gets video call feature

One of WhatsApp's much-awaited feature of video calling appeared in an earlier beta version of the app for Android before being removed. Now WhatsApp Beta for Windows Phone devices has received the video calling functionality allowing beta users to make video calls on the app.

Similar to the voice calling screen of WhatsApp, the video calling screen has the options to answer calls, mute the microphone and send messages. However, now there's also an option to switch cameras between front and rear during video calls as well. Moreover, the call button will give you two options of voice and video calling.

Users are reporting that the addition of video calling is a server side update, and doesn't require a new update to the app. Also note that for the feature to show up Windows Phone's users may require to re-install the WhatsApp Beta app anew.
