OnePlus 3T with Snapdragon 821 processor, 16MP front camera gets official

The OnePlus 3 is one of the best smartphones of this year. Recently it was also declared the best rated smartphone on Amazon India as well. The OnePlus 3 was launched earlier this year with Snapdragon 820 processor. Now the company has launched an upgraded version dubbed OnePlus 3T.

The OnePlus 3T retains the same design with home button on the front that houses fingerprint sensor, as well as 5.5-inch Full HD Optic AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection as the OnePlus 3. However, it is powered by a more powerful 2.35GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor, which supports Google's Daydream VR platform. The chip is further aided by 6GB RAM and Adreno 530 GPU. Storage capacity on-board is 64GB/128GB.

OnePlus 3T also gets an improved front facing camera. It comes with 16MP selfie shooter with Samsung 3P89SP sensor, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording. The camera at the rear is still the same, 16MP unit with SONY IMX298 sensor, OIS, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and 4K video recording.

Connectivity duties are handled by dual-SIM slot, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C and NFC. It is fueled by 3400mAh battery backed by Dash Charging, instead of 3000mAh battery found on OnePlus 3. For software, it runs Android Marshmallow based Oxygen OS, but OnePlus has promised Android Nougat update for OnePlus 3T later this year.

The OnePlus 3T base model with 64GB is priced at $439 (Rs. 30,000), while the 128GB version will set you back by $479 (Rs. 32,500). It will be available through OnePlus.net starting November 22 in the U.S, and November 28 in Europe in Gunmetal and Soft Gold colors. There are no details about India launch yet.
