RCom announces Rs 149 special pack with unlimited voice calling

Following Relaince Jio's footstep, Anil Ambani-ledRCom has announced a new 4G special tariff pack of Rs. 149, which offers unlimited calls for 28 days. The plan is currently available in Andhra Pradesh and is expected to roll out to other states in the coming days.

The new 28 days plan is called "Unlimited India Calling" and offers unlimited calls to any local and STD numbers, including free incoming calls on roaming. Subscribers will also get 300MB of 4G data, just like Mukesh Ambani's Jio. However, unlike Jio's plan, RCom's doesn't include 100 free SMS or unlimited outgoing call while in national roaming.

One benefit RCom subscribers have over Jio's customers is that they wouldn't need a VoLTE capable device, that starts at Rs. 3,000 to enjoy these benefits; a dirt cheap feature phone would do. That said, Reliance Jio is reportedly planning to launch 4G VoLTE enabled feature phones at Rs. 999 to target a larger group (rural areas + tier III cities) early next year.
