Archos 101 Saphir 2-in-1 rugged tablet announced

Ahead of MWC 2017, France based Archos has introduced 101 Saphir, a budget 2-in-1 rugged tablet with detachable keyboard. Archos says the rugged tablet is designed for hikers, rider and outdoor workers. Thanks to the rugged design, the tablet can withstand water splashes (IP54 rating) and survive drops from up to 1 meter.

The Archos 101 Saphir features 10.1-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8163 processor with 1GB RAM and 16GB storage, which is expandable via microSD card.

It also gets 5MP/2MP cameras, USB Type-C port, micro HDMI port, dual speaker, WiFi, Bluetooth and built-in GPS. The tablet runs Android Nougat and features split-screen mode. A 6000mAh battery keeps the lights on.

The Archos 101 Saphir will be released in June 2017. The pricing is not yet known, but Archos says the tablet will be showcased at MWC 2017, Barcelona (Hall 6, Booth #B60).
