nubia M2 gets official with dual-rear cameras


ZTE sub-brand nubia has finally launched its first dual-camera toting smartphone. The Chinese brand has unveiled the nubia M2 in China boasting dual-camera setup. The company also launched a a lite variant of M2, as well with single cameracalled nubia M2 Lite.

The nubia M2 sports 13MP dual rear cameras (one is a regular RGB sensor, while the other one is a Monochrome sensor) at the back with PDAF and dual-LED flash. The lens of both the cameras are protected by Sapphire glass. For selfies, it gets a 16MP f/2.0 80-degree wide-angle camera on the the front. Usually nubia phones have rear mounted fingerprint scanner, but the M2's fingerprint sensor is embedded into the home button.

Coming to the other specs, the nubia M2 features 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by Snapdragon 625 processor with 4GB RAM. It will be offered in two storage variants, 64GB and 128GB. The storage is even expandable via microSD card.

Other specifications include dual-SIM support, 4G, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, USB Type-C port, Dolby Surround 7.1 and TruSignal Enhancement technology. It runs Android Marshmallow based nubia UI 4.0 and is fueled by 3630mAh battery supported by NeoCharge fast charging technology.

The nubia M2 Lite as the name suggests is a lite version of M2 with single rear camera. It features 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by MediaTek's MT6750 processor. The phone comes with either 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage and packs a 3000mAh battery. For photography, there's 13MP f/2.2 rear camera, and 16MP f/2.0 front camera. It runs Android Marshmallow and supports microSD card, dual-SIMs, 4G, VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and fast charging. There's also a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button.

The nubia M2 is priced at CNY 2699 ($390 | Rs. 25,500) for the 64GB storage version and CNY 2999 ($435 | Rs. 28,500) for the 128GB storage options. The M2 Lite starts at CNY 1799 ($260 | Rs. 17,000). The M2 and M2 Lite will be available in China from March 28 in Gold and Black hues.
