Acer's Leap Ware is a fitness focused smartwatch


Acer has introduced a new smart fitness watch called Leap Ware, at its next@acer global press conference in New York. 

The Leap Ware has a circular design with polished stainless steel frame sporting a simple and minimalistic look, but is loaded with features that promotes fitness and healthy lifestyle, thanks to the array of fitness-tracking sensors.

The Acer Leap Ware comes with a 1.66-inch touch enabled screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass SR+ to keep scratches at bay and is equipped with Mediatek MT2523 and MT2511 bio-sensing chip. It offers fitness tracking features like monitoring heart rate, stamina, stress/fatigue levels and exposure to ultraviolet rays. It also boasts three to five days of battery life.




The fitness watch has IP673 water resistance rating making it capable of surviving "unexpected torrential downpour". It also has a built-in LED light which illuminates at a press of a button. It comes with interchangeable bands that come in Navy Blue or Light brown color and is also compatible with any thrid party 20mm (0.7-inch) watch band as well.

Also when you connect your Android or iOS device to the Leap Ware via the dedicated Life app, the watch will show notifications for calls, texts and display fitness data. The app also lets users to set daily fitness goals with notifications to coach the wearer, so they can stay motivated and on track.

The Acer Leap Ware will be available in North America in July at $139, EMEA in Q3 for €139, and in Taiwan in August starting at NT$4,990.
