Xiaomi enters Mexico with Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4X

Xiaomi continues to expand its presence globally. Last month, the Chinese smartphone maker entered Russia with the Mi Note 2, Mi MIX and Redmi 4X, and now it is setting foot in Latin America starting with Mexico.

Xiaomi says it chose Mexico because it is an important market to penetrate and is also a good starting point for the company’s expansion into the Latin American market.

The company would start selling two of its phone, the Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4X in Mexico via offline and online channels. The Redmi Note 4 will start at 5,499 Mexican pesos ($296), while the Redmi 4X will start at 3,999 Mexican pesos ($209).

To reach as many consumers as possible, Xiaomi has teamed up with a number of online and offline retailers to increase its retail presence in the Latin America region. The devices will be available online on Amazon, Best Buy, Soriana, Elektra and Walmart website, and offline via Coppel, Best Buy and Sam's Club.

Besides smartphones, Xiaomi also launched Mi Community app for Mexico, a platform for Mi fans to connect with each other and get up to date news about launches and offers. The app will be available on the Google Play Store Mexico this month, and will be rolled out to other Latin America countries later on.
