Samsung announces Galaxy S8 Pirates of the Caribbean Edition

Every year, Samsung releases a special themed edition of its Galaxy S flagship. In the past, the South Korean tech giant launched the Galaxy S6 edge Iron Man edition, and Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice Edition.

For this year's flagship, Samsung has teamed up with Disney to release a Pirates of the Caribbean themed Galaxy S8. The special edition smartphone has been announced in China, and will carry a price tag of CNY 5988 (Rs. 56,500) and will be available through JD.com. It will have 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Spec-wise, it is same as the regular version.

The limited edition model looks exactly like the regular Galaxy S8 from the outside, however, it comes pre-loaded with Pirates of the Caribbean themed special themes, wallpaper, icons and some bonus contents from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

However, unlike the Galaxy S6 edge Iron Man edition and Galaxy S7 Edge Injustice Edition, the Pirates of The Caribbean themed Galaxy S8 has no logo etched at the back. It's just the plain Midnight Black color variant of Galaxy S8 packed in Pirates of the Caribbean themed box.

The retail box looks like a treasure chest, with the Pirates of the Caribbean logo engraved on it. The contents of the box include the Galaxy S8 along with a phone ring holder and removable case customized with a logo as well.

As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy S8 Pirates of the Theme Edition will be availabile in China, and there's no word of release outside the country.
