Asus ZenFone AR launched in India at Rs. 49,999


Asus is finally launching the ZenFone AR smartphone in India. It was initially announced at CES 2017 as world's first smartphone to boast 8GB RAM and to support Google's 'Tango AR and Daydream VR' platforms.

The company offered ZenFone AR in multiple variants featuring 6GB or 8GB RAM, and storage options of 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. But India is getting the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version. It has been priced at Rs. 49,999 and is now available exclusively through Flipkart. 

Launch offers include Rs 2,500 discount on the Google Daydream View VR headset, no cost EMI up to nine months and 100GB of free data for Jio Prime users.

The ZenFone AR runs Android Nougat with Zen UI 3.0 on top and supports Google Daydream platform for virtual reality, which means you can use it with Daydream VR headset for an immersive VR experience. To take advantage of Tango's capabilities, the phone is equipped with three cameras: 23MP Sony IMX318 rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, OIS, EIS and 4K video recording + motion tracking camera + fisheye depth-sensing camera.

As for the other specs, the ZenFone AR has 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display and is powered by Snapdragon 821 processor. For selfies it get 8MP front shooter, and a 3300mAh battery runs the show. It also includes fingerprint scanner, dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, advanced vapor cooling system, 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port.
