Google Pixel 2 line CAD-based renders surface

Earlier this month an alleged render showed off what Google's upcoming smartphone Pixel XL 2 will look like, and revealed some interesting details. Now Steve Hemmerstoffer in collaboration with MySmartPrice has shared CAD design based renders and a 360-degree video of the Pixel 2 line, giving us a clear look from all angles.

The renders show the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 in black metallic hue. Both have the same design, but it's different than that of its predecessors. They will sport LG G6-like bezeless design, and retain the metal & glass rear panel, but will get some tweaks.

In the first Pixel phones, the camera module and fingerprint sensor were located on the glass housing, but in the Pixel 2 line, only the camera module is place on the glass section, while the fingerprint scanner will be embedded to the metal housing.

Furthermore Google is sticking with single-camera module, instead of the current trend of dual-camera. The phones also get a speaker grill below the display, USB Type-C at the bottom, and the power and volume keys are located on the right side.

The source says that the Google Pixel 2 will measure 145.3 x 69.3 x 7.8mm (8.2mm with camera bump), and the Pixel XL 2 will measure 157.6 x 76.3 x 7.9mm (8.6mm with camera bump). It also claims that Pixel 2 line will not feature a 3.5mm audio jack, however, a previous report had mentioned that Pixel XL 2 will have a 3.5mm audio jack, and the Pixel 2 will axe it.

There is no doubt that the Pixel 2 line will ship with Android O and utilize QHD display with AMOLED panel and Snapdragon 835/836 Mobile Platform. The Pixel 2 is said to have 5.7-inch screen, and the Pixel XL 2 6-inch screen. An interesting feature that Pixel 2 line is rumored to get is the squeezable frame, similar to HTC U11. You can squeeze the sides of the phone to interact with it or perform actions.

Google's usual time frame to unveil  hardware products is in October, so the Pixel 2 line is most likely to debut in the same month.
