Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A/Redmi 5A gets certified by TENAA


The successor of the record-breaking Redmi Note 4 is already in works. Redmi device with model numbers MDT6 and MDT6S belived to be the Redmi Note 5A/Redmi 5A passed through TENAA, indicating the release is right around the corner.

Both models have 5.5-inch screen, 3000mAh battery and run Android 7.1.1 Nougat based MIUI 9. They will be offered in a variety of colors including Blue, Red, Pink, Grey, Silver, Black, Rose Gold, Gold and White.

Usually Redmi Note line up boasts Full HD display, but TENAA lists HD resolution for the Note 5A. This could be an error, or the device is affordable version of Redmi Note 5 or the Redmi 5A.


Individually, the MDT6 model will be a lower-end device featuring quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and 13MP/5MP cameras. It will give the fingerprint scanner a miss. The same device, previously leaked in press render, and was claimed to be the Redmi 5A.

The MDT6S on the other hand will be an upgraded model boasting specs like octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 16MP/13MP cameras and a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.

According to rumors Xiaomi has an event on August 21 to announce the Redmi Note 5A/Redmi 5A.
