Samsung recently rolled out Android Nougat to the Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 Prime in India. And now it has begun the process of upgrading the Galaxy A line in the country to the one-year old Nougat.

After global roll out that started last month, the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) units in India, which shipped with Android Marshmallow are now receiving Android Nougat.

Nougat update for Galaxy A7 (2017) (SM-A720F) uses firmware version A720FXXUB2BQI2, and has a file size of 1376.35, while for the Galaxy A5 (2017), the firmware version is A520FXXUBQI5 and the download package weighs at 1385.98MB.

The update is rolling out over-the-air, and if you've not been notified about the update yet, you can manually check for it by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update. Since this is a major upgrade, the download make sure you're device is connected to a WiFi network, and have at-least 50 percent of charge and 2GB of free storage space.

The major operating system update to these devices brings, new software UX, improved notifications and quick settings button, multi-window mode, Samsung pass, improvements to AOD and app installation times. It also adds Dual Messenger function, that will allow users to setup two separate accounts for the same social networking or instant messaging apps on the device.
