Google unveils $399 Google Home Max premium smart speaker

Google at its Pixel 2 event expanded its smart speaker line up with the Home Mini. In addition, the company introduced another member to the Home family: Google Home Max.

The Google Home Max is a premium smart speaker made of metal and fabric, and is louder. Under the fabric there are dual 4.5-inch high-excursion woofers with two 0.7 inch custom-built tweeters to deliver deep balanced bass for high-fidelity sound output. Google claims that it can play music 20 times more louder than the original Google Home.

It features Google Assistant and comes with Smart Sound audio experience, that allows the speaker to adapt to the user's environment, context and preferences. For this function, it analyzes ambient sound using built-in mics and adjusts the equalizer to deliver the best sound. Smart Sound is also integrated with machine learning so it will improve over time and deliver enhanced sound output based on where you place the device.

The smart speaker works with a wide range of music services, and supports Bluetooth and auxiliary port. It can also fit into the space easily, as it can be positioned vertically and horizontally. It comes in Chalk and Charcoal colors.

The Google Home Max is priced at $399 (Rs. 26,000), and comes bundled with one year of ad-free YouTube Music subscription (new subscriber only). The pre-orders open starting November 13, and will go on sale in the U.S starting December, and roll out to other countries early 2018.
