The HP ZBook x2 is the world's first detachable workstation

HP has introduced a new 2-in-1 tablet called ZBook x2, and claims it to be the "world's first detachable workstation" designed for creative professionals. It comes with built-in kickstand as well as a detachable keyboard. The keyboard can also be used without being attached to the tablet via Bluetooth and features Quick Keys with 18 adobe app shortcuts.

The HP ZBook x2 tablet has 14-inch LED-backlit anti-glare touch display bearing a screen resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, and can be configured with up to an Intel Core i7-8560U Kaby Lake-R processor and storage options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB SSD. It packs NVIDIA Quadro graphics and 32GB RAM, which HP claims is twice the memory capacity of any other detachable.

It comes with 8MP rear camera, 720p front camera, fingerprint scanner and supports digital pen. The digital pen is powered by Wacom EMR technology, and responds instantly with almost zero latency and can detect 4096 levels of pressure. There's no battery in the pen, so it doesn't require charging.

For connectivity there's 2 x Thunderbolt 3 ports, an HDMI 1.4 port, a SD card rear, a headset jack and power connector. The tablet can be connected to up to four external display or two 4K displays.

It is also able to survive drops thanks to the military standard MIL-STD 810G certification and the device is equipped with dual-fan active cooling system, to keep the components inside cool.

HP claims that the 2-in-1 tablet can run for 10 hours on a single charge. There's support for fast charging as well, and promises 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes.

The HP ZBook x2 tablet price starts at $1,749 (Rs. 1,14,000) and will be available starting December. You can check the full specs sheet here.
