Coming soon to India: Near bezel-less Honor 7X and Gionee M7 Power

China's Gionee and Huawei's sub-brand Honor will soon bring budget bezel-less phones to the Indian smartphone market: Gionee M7 Power and Honor 7X. While the Gionee M7 Power is a battery-centric device, the Honor 7X puts the focus on camera.

Starting with Honor 7X, the company aims to strengthen its position in the Indian smartphone market with this phone. The brand is very popular in China and Europe, but has been struggling in India due to high competition from Xiaomi, Samsung, Motorola, Oppo and vivo.

That said, Huawei, Global President George Zhao speaking to IANS said that the company "wants to take the Indian smartphone market by storm with some innovative and trend-setting products and become the country’s top smartphone brand within three years". To achieve this Huawei plans to push its position in the market by lunching flagship products at "unbeatable price", introduce cutting edge technologies (like A.I), expand presence in both online and offline channels and boost marketing efforts.

Zhao also said that the company will launch the Honor 7X at such a price that it will have no competitor in that segment. Speaking of the specs, the Honor 7X's focus is on photography. It features dual-cameras consisting of 16MP+2MP sensor. It also has a near bezel-less design and sports 5.93-inch Full HD+ 18:9 display.

Other specs include octa-core Kirin 659 chip, 4GB RAM, 8MP selfie camera, 4G VoLTE, fingerprint scanner and 3340mAh battery. It runs Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1, and comes in three storage variants: 32GB/64GB/128GB. The phone is priced at an equivalent of Rs. 13,000 in China. The Honor 7X will be launched in December and will also be sold through offline mobile stores.

Next is the Gionee M7 Power, it will be launched in India later this month. The main highlight of the phone is its massive 5000mAh battery, which is likely to last for three to five days on a single charge, depending on the use. It also has a large display featuring a 6-inch HD+ screen with 18:9 aspect ratio.

Other specs include octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 13MP/8MP camera, fingerprint scanner, 4G VoLTE and fast charging support. It runs Android Nougat and carries a price tag equivalent of Rs. 20,000 in Thailand. Color options include Gold, Black and Dark Blue.
