OnePlus 5 Is Getting OxygenOS 4.5.15 With October Security Patch, Bug Fixes & Improvements

One of the great things about owning a OnePlus device is the incredible software experience. OnePlus' OxygenOS retains all the elements of stock Android and adds a bunch of useful customisations on top of it. To ensure that it's users get the best software experience, OnePlus releases software updates every now and then which apart from fixing bugs also add new features.  It is interesting to note that OnePlus is very frequent with updates for its devices. The OnePlus 3 and 3T were updated to Oreo recently and just a few days ago, the OnePlus 5T started getting OxygenOS 4.7.4. OnePlus is now updating the OnePlus 5 with OxygenOS 4.5.14.

Apart from multiple bug fixes, this update includes an update to the security patch level along with optimisations for GPS. For the security patch, OnePlus decided to go for the two month old October 1 patch, instead of the December security patches. The changelog is as follows:

• GPS improvements
• Fixed issue of not able to set customized alarm ringtone
• Fixed issue of sharing emoji from Bitmoji
• Updated Android security patch to October
• General bug fixes

The build number for the update is ONEPLUS A5000_23_171205. If you own a OnePlus 5, you will be getting a notification of the update as soon as it is available for your device. To force the OTA notification to show up, you can use a VPN client such as OperaVPN and set the location to as Germany or Canada. OnePlus is known to roll out updates to users in these countries first and thus you will be able to get the update notification when you select either of these countries. You can also update manually by flashing the files given below.
