Sony PS4s Project Morpheus VR headset launching in the first half of 2016


About a year ago, Sony unveiled a prototype of Project Morpheus VR headset for PlayStation 4 with no details of its specs and availability.

Today at Game Developers Conference event in San Francisco, the Japanese electronic giant revealed more plans for the Project Morpheus VR headset. Now it has new specs and design.

Sony's VR headset will feature 1920x1080 RGB OLED display with a 120hz refresh rate. The devices display is 5.7 inches and has 100 degree field of view and uses nine LEDs for positional tracking. It also has a super-low latency of less than 18 milliseconds which delivers a great virtual reality experience.

Project Morpheus is designed to be more comfortable. It is easier to put and take ot off with a single band to relieve pressure on the face and a quick release button.

Project Morpheus VR headset will launch in the first half of 2016. There is no word on pricing.
