HP launches new range of enterprise tablets in India
At an event in Delhi on Thursday, HP launched its range of Android and Windows powered tablet in India targeted at enterprise customers. The Android powered tablets include HP Pro Slate 8, HP Pro Slate 12 and Pro Slate 10 EE. The Windows tablet include Pro Tablet 10 EE, Pro Tablet 408 G1 and HP ElitePad 1000 G2 (Healthcare and Rugged). The tablets were announced earlier this month globally.
The HP Pro Slate 8 and Pro Slate 12 apart from the screen size and battery backup, both tablet feature the same specs. The Pro Slate 8 sports 7.9-inch FHD QXGA display with 324 ppi and backed by 21WHr Li-ion polymer battery. while the Pro Slate 12 features 12.3-inch UXGA display with 163ppi and is backed by 32WHr Li-ion polymer battery.
Both tablets are powered by 2.3GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage [microSD card support]. The Pro Slate 8 will be available in 16GB as well. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat. Camera features include an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity features include USB 2.0, Mircast, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and NFC.
A new accessory dubbed HP Duet Pen will be included in Pro Slate 8 and Pro Slate 12. The Duet Pen is said to be the first to use QUalcomm Snapdragon digital Pen technology. It works both on-screen and digitises straight to screen when writing on tablet or a paper which HP calls Paper Folio.
The HP Pro Slate 8 and HP Pro Slate 12 are priced starting from Rs. 33,000 and Rs. 41,500 respectively and will be available starting May.
The HP Pro Slate 10 EE and Pro Tablet 10 EE runs Windows 8.1 and Android 4.4 KitKat respectively. The tablets are focused at education, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail verticals.
Both sport a 10.1-inch WXGA (1200x800 pixels display) and is powered by Intel Atom processor. They come in two RAM options - 1GB or 2GB. The Pro Slate 10 EE comes in 16 GB or 32GB storage options, while the Pro Tablet 10 EE comes with 32GB internal storage.
The HP Pro Tablet 408 G1 sports a 8-inch IPS display and is powered by a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z3736F Bay Trail processor with Intel HD graphics and paired with 2GB RAM. It comes in 32GB and 64GB built in storage variants with microSD card support [upto 128GB]. Camera features include an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Micro-USB, and Micro-HDMI. The tablet is powered by 4800mAh battery. The tablet also comes with an accessory called HP Pro Tablet 408 Active pen, which works as an stylus for the Tablet.
The HP Pro Tablet 408 G1, Pro Slate 10 EE and Pro Tablet 10 EE are available starting from Rs. 23,500, Rs. 22,000, and Rs. 25,000 respectively.
The HP ElitePad 1000 G2 Healthcare tablet has an antimicrobial treatment to protect the device. It can be cleansed easily and is IP 54 rated. With the inbuilt 2D barcode reader, the tablet reduce the risk of medical errors like validate personnel, patients and catalog and administrate medication.
The HP Elite Pad 1000 G2 Rugged on the other hand offers solutions to mobile workers in or out of the office in manufacturing or in-field environments. It is IP 65 rated for dust and wate and MIL-STD 810 testing with up to 20 hours of battery life and 2D barcode reader to access information.
Both the HP ElitePad 1000 G2 Healthcare and ElitePad 1000 G2 Rugged tablets feature 10.1-inch WUXA displays, Intel Atom Z3795 processors, 4GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front facing camera and runs Windows 8.1 Pro.
The HP ElitePad 1000 G2 Healthcare and ElitePad 1000 G2 Rugged tablet will be priced starting from Rs. 85,000 and will be available from July.
