WhatsApp brings voice calling to Tizen; In works for Windows Phone


WhatApp has rolled out its VOIP calling feature to Mobile devices running Tizen platform. Also WhatsApp confirmed that it is working on bring the voice calling feature to Windows Phone as well.

WhatsApp for Tizen got the voice-calling feature via an app update which was rolled out earlier this week. To get the voice calling feature users should update their WhatsApp app to the latest version 2.12.10. No invitation is requaired. For those uninitiated, follow the five simple steps to activate the VOIP feature-
  1. Launch Tizen Store on your smartphone
  2. Select Apps on top left corner of the app store
  3. Choose My Apps
  4. Locate WhatsApp under updates
  5. Tap 'Update', wait for the procedure to complete, launch the app and enjoy the new feature.
In related WhatsApp also confirmed the voice calling feature for Windows Phone. WhatsApp is said to be working on bringing the feature to Windows Phone user. However no timeline was revealed.

In addition, iPhone users are just weeks away from having the voice calling feature enabled on their device. No exact date is known. WhatsApp calling feature is already available for Android users.
