XOLO Chromebook, Nexian Air Chromebook and ASUS Chromebox for meetings launched in India
In April last year, Google announced that Xolo and Nexian are working on Chromebooks for the Indian market. Now both the Chromebooks have been unveiled.
At a Google India event, the company announced the Xolo Chromebook and Nexian Air Chromebook as well as Asus Chromebox for meetings. The Xolo Chromebook and Nexian Air Chromebook offer the same specs.
Both feature 11.6-inch (1366x768 pixels) IPS display. They are powered by 1.8GHz Rockchip RK3288 Quad-Core Cortex-A17 processor paired with ARM Mali-T764 GPU and 2GB DDR3 RAM. For storage they have 16GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for storage expansion.
They come equipped with 1-megapixel HD (1280x720) HD webcam for recording videos and video chatting. Connectivity features include 2 x USB 2.0 ports, , HDMI, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Also included are Chrome Keyboard, Clickable touchpad and 100GB Google Drive cloud storage free for two years. Both Chromebooks are backed by 4300mAh battery that offers up to 10 hours of working battery life on a single charge.
The Xolo Chromebook and Nexian Air Chromebook are priced at 12,999 each. The Xolo Chromebook will be available exclusively on Snapdeal and Nexian Air Chromebook will be available via Amazon. Google also announced that it will launch Asus Chromebook Flip, Asus Chromebook C201 and Samsung Chromebooks in India in the coming months.
Coming to the Asus Chromebox for meeting, the device is aimed at organizations and lets them to run and manage high-definition video meetings for any conference room. It brings Google+ Hangouts and other business apps from Google.
Asus Chromebox runs ChromeOS and comes with full HD video camera, a combined microphone and speaker unit and a remote control. It is powered by fourth gen Intel Core i7 processor coupled with Intel HD Graphics 4400 and 4G RAM. It has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 2-in-1 card reader, 2 x USB 3.0, HDMI, DC-in port and display port. It comes with free 10GB of Google drive for two years. The Asus Chromebox for meeting will be available in the country for Rs. 90,000.
