Xiaomi, Li-Ning launches Smart Shoes


Earlier this year in March it was reported that Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is teaming up with Li Ning Co. Ltd, a shoemaker, to produce a new generation of smart running shoes this year.

Now Xiaomi has unveiled a Smart Shoe in partnership with Li Ning. Called Li-Ning Smart Shoes, it is waterproof and and packs a Bluetooth chip which will allow them to pair with smartphone via an app to track your activity.

The smart shoe features a module sensor inside the sole that records fitness data such as steps, distance traveled, calories burned and more. The sensors are built using military-grade materials, and are good enough to last more than a year. It is also sweat proof, can withstand pressure and are available in a number of bright colors.

There will be two different variants of the smart shoes, one priced at CNY 199 (Rs. 2,000) and the other CNY 299 (Rs. 4,000). Both the models will go on sale in China starting July 20.
