Motorola Moto X Play gets Android 6.0.1 update in India


Motorola released the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Moto X Play earlier this year in India, and has now started rolling out Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) update for the Moto X Play in the country. The latest firmware update adds support for new emojis, improved security and a couple of new features.

After the update, Moto X Play will support Unicode 8.0 emojis including volleyball, taco, middle finger, champagne bottle, and 100 others including new faces for rolling eyes, thickness and thinking. Users will also be able to launch camera by double pressing the power button, and turn off and on the camera shutter at any time. The update also brings improved stability and several fixes. Android security patches for the month of March is also included in the update.

The Android 6.0.1 update for the Moto X Play bumps the version to v24.61.5, weighs in at 387.4MB in size and is being released OTA (over-the-air).
